Main Range The Kosciuszko Walking Track is clear of snow with a couple of patches near Rawsons Pass off the track. The wildflowers are putting on a nice display across the range. Wildflowers just starting include Silver Snow Daisies, Eyebrights, Candle Heath, Alpine Sunrays, Swamp Heath and Stackhousia, the last two have beautiful sweet fragrances. Lower elevations also have a nice array of flowers including the Shaggy Pea, the delightfully scented Mint Bush and Stackhousia. The striking Macleay's swallowtail butterfly has also emerged and so has the first March Fly of the season. The NPWS say the flowering season is a little early this year with the peak likely mid to late December. Toilets open at Rawsons Pass, they are Australia's highest!
